Biography of Sam Patel, CFA - President and Manager of Constitution Investment Management Corporation
Sam Patel commenced his investment career in 1994, after graduating with a Bachelor of Economics from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. His first position in the investment management field was as an analyst for Lincoln Indicators, a private risk management firm based in Melbourne Australia. Lincoln Indicators developed and marketed a series of mathematical models that measured the degree of insolvency risk present in the financial statements of a company. Sam spent four years with Lincoln Indicators and assumed the titles of Senior Analyst and Co-Director of the company.
In 1999, Sam migrated to the United States and commenced work for Baring Asset Management (Boston). The primary role at Baring's was to aid with the marketing of the company's array of domestic and international suite of equity and fixed income products. In 2002 as an Independent Financial Consultant, he began working on various industry projects, the most notable of which was with Needham & Company where he worked as an analyst performing valuation calculations in relation to the software industry. He received his CFA designation in September 2003 and commenced establishing Constitution Investment Management Corporation in September 2004. He obtained a consultancy position with Digitas Inc. in March 2005 and in November of the same year joined Weiss Ratings Inc. as a Senior Analyst. In August 2006 Weiss Ratings was bought by TheStreet.com and renamed TheStreet.com Ratings. Post acquisition Sam assumed the title of Manager - Mutual Fund Research, a position he currently holds.
